GOOD TO KNOW CAMP INFO
Additional training:
1 goalie private sessions: 1h / 300€
Rink:
Ilmatar Areena https://www.esitteemme.fi/IlmatarAreena/WebView/0
We will have drying room at the rink
There is a hockey shop at the rink that should be open
Hotel / Airbnb: Hotel Matts https://www.kassiopeia.fi/hotel-matts/ is 500m from the rink. They have also rooms with kitchen and washing machine. It is next to shopping mall and has metro below that goes straight to Helsinki in 20 minutes. There are plenty of Airbnbs close by. If you choose that option I recommend taking one in a newer building since older build in the 70’s have indoor air quality problems and no air conditioning. There are some really nice ones for a decent price.

GOALIE CAMPS DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM DEVELOPMENT
I take maximum of 4 goalies on the ice so I can fully focus on your development. I typically plan the first half of the ice and on the fly choose drills for the second half based on what I see.
CUSTOM SUMMER TRAINING FOR COLLEGE & PRO GOALIES IN FINLAND
If you are a college or pro level goalie I recommend you contact me to ask more info about custom pro training. Here are my constant info and you can also fill in a contact form to request more info.
Here is a quick outline what kind of setup I have done before and what you can expect:
Goalie sessions combined with U20-NHL players’ scoring practices and game ice.
Depending on goalies schedules we have done group sessions with 2-4 goalies and individual 1-on-1 sessions.
In addition to ice training off-ice has been customized for each goalie. For example, I can give you a full off-ice program for the summer and specific things you can add to your team’s program (eg. hand speed drills and flexibility/mobility exercises) . When you come here we can go over certain techniques, warm up routines and useful details that will sift those small marginals to your favour. I have often booked a gym and we have done full off-ice training sessions.
Price range varies from a couple of hundreds to a few thousands depending what kind of package you want and cost of ice. Contact me and let’s see more in detail what your package could look like.
MY COACHING STYLE AND WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN WORKING WITH ME
My coaching style could be summarized: This is why they score, this is how you fix it and this is what you need to do to get better overall. My goal is to provide as much information as possible, give different options and find what works the best for you. At the end you choose how you want to play and my job is to give you tools and teach you how to use those tools the best of your abilities. My mental approach with every goalie is, “what we must do so you can play in the NHL?”

NOT JUST JUMPING FROM A ONE DRILL TO ANOTHER
I used to have camps with 20-30 goalies and sometimes even scoring camps combined with the goalie camp. Reason why I don’t do those anymore is that four goalies is the absolute maximum number you can actually give individual attention and to customize the drills. With maximum of 4 goalies on the ice, I can change the drills on the fly based on what I see. Only draw back is that due to less people sharing the cost of ice my prices needs to be higher but goalies say that value you’ll get is greater.
TEAM CONSULTING
I travel once in a while to different countries to work with teams and organisations. So far I have always attended individual team practices and led goalies sessions.
Price depends on the location and how long you’d want me to stay. So far my prices have varied between 2500 - 9500€

I HAVE PROPABLY THE BEST GOALIE CAMP SHOOTERS IN THE WORLD
My camps in Finland have arguable the best shooters in the world. 2024 summer we had a combination of 100+ NHL games and 200+ junior national team games among the shooters. Shooters will adjust their shots based on who is in the net but everything else they will do normal speed. For younger goalies this is really great because this will force them to read the situations and naturally fix errors.
SUCCESS AND RESULTS
Here is a list of achievements goalies have had after attending my camps:
NHL contracts
Top European pro league contracts
U16 - Men’s National team selections
U16-U20 world championships
NCAA D1 championships
Junior league championships
State / providence championships
Best goalie of the league awards
All-star selections
MVP awards
I have had goalies at my camps from:
Finland
USA
Canada
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Germany
France
Austria
Switzerland
Spain
Netherlands
Great Britain
Latvia
Russia
Hungary
If you want to achieve this level of success too, come to work with me, and I’ll do my best to help you reach your full potential.
SMALL DETAILS AND AMOUNT OF REPS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
I have been told that my attention to details and selection of drills is different what you’ll typically get at normal camps. And how much more reps you get is totally at different level.
MY THOUGHTS ABOUT GOALIE CAMPS
What makes a good camp:
As a goalie I used to go to 1-2 camps every summer and as a coach I have coached at many different goalie camps all over the world. One thing I have noticed is that the camps that have a kind and caring atmosphere where people respect each other give the best results.
My experience as a goalie:
The best ice hockey goalie camps I have been at as a goalie had goalie coaches who actually cared about our development and everything was well organized.
I have personally enjoyed the comradery at big the camps and that is why I recommend everyone to attend also traditional camps with lots of goalies. Another reason why I recommend going to big camps is that you’ll get to learn from many different coaches. The downfall of big camps is that those are often just jumping from one station to another, there is no real individual attention and no time to actually work on specific things. Often coaches are also younger guys who don’t have much experience and therefore can’t see the details that experience gives you (I’m a much better coach now than 10 years ago).
The reasons why I chose not to host traditional big camps anymore are the amount of admin work it takes and the lower quality. Even with only 6 goalies, you start to run stations with time limits. The level of personal attention drops dramatically when there are more than 4 goalies on the ice.
With only 1-4 goalies I can focus on you and see details that actually make you better. With this setting, I can make sure the quality is what I want for you and I can customize training for you. For example, if we need to do a one drill for 30 minutes we can do it or do five drills in 30 minutes. The results on an individual level have been so much better compared to big camps that I can’t run big camps anymore. Only attend them as a guest coach.
My experience as a coach:
The best camps I have been at as a coach had coaches who were confident about their abilities and also okay with not having all the answers right away. When goalies and coaches are willing to listen to each other and have open minds it creates a positive learning environment that produces good results.
What to expect when working with me:
My style of coaching is very experimental. Meaning that I try to find what works for you and give you options. For example, there are many different ways to hold the glove so I test it with you to see what is the best glove position for you and how you can use different options in different situations.
Typically I plan the first half of the ice and then select drills for the second part based on what I see in the first half. I also consider your request for what you want to work on. I often make up drills on the fly if there are certain things that need to be fixed. That is why you may see some unusual drills on my social media.
I’d say the magic happens when there is attention to detail, repetitions, and time to hone the skill long enough so you can take it with you to daily life.
THE BEST ICE HOCKEY GOALIE CAMPS IN THE WORLD
My goal is that my camps are known as one of the best camps to go to when your goal is to become a pro or if you are a pro goalie who wants to take his game to the next level. That is why I take maximum of four goalies on the ice and shooters are high level players.
